"I missed a call from Kris this morning at 6. I had my phone on silent and was sleeping. I’m really bummed of course. He left quite a long message. They have made it through the 100 miles of wilderness and said that it was the most beautiful scenery he has ever seen with his two eyes; just no word to describe it. They are taking a zero day at a hostel today. They need to get some warmer gear and are happy to do so after the heat and humidity of the south. Kris sounded excited again about this venture so I think the decision to head north did just what they hoped it would do. ... His phone card is out so hopefully he will be able to find another. The area code that came up was 207. I am so glad to hear from him. I went to bed last night feeling like I have had enough of this; him being out there and no contact at all. So glad that he sounded happy!"
