"ok so now we are a couple phone calls behind. i think he called nov. 23, tues, from PA where Yetti llives. his parents had come to pick them all up from the trail and bring them there for Thanksgiving week. kris was grateful for a warm, inviting home to be in; clean laundry and homecooked meals. thank you to Yetti's parents.
he called again yesterday morning (12.2.2010). he was walking into town, Manchester, VT. they had a bit of a harrowing experience coming across Bromley ski area either in Vermont or New Hampshire. the trail goes through some of the ski area i guess. anyway a white out came up and they couldn't see anything. they fortunately came upon ski patrol hut where they broke in and spent the night out of the elements but in cramped quarters. the ski patrol found them in the morning but forgave the break in. conditions had improved and they were able to be on their way. kris' air mattress has ceased to hold air again. there was hopefully going to be a good outfitter in Manchester where he could replace it. he and Yetti are both sick with bad colds. kris sounded upbeat in spite of these set backs. i guess it is all part of the adventure."
