"He called from Front Royal, VA. He and Joel were staying the night there and then heading out. They are about 53 miles from the half-way point of Harpers Ferry, VA. From there they still plan on taking a bus to D.C. and heading to the northern most point on the trail via train. Kris sounded good; upbeat and still resolved to stay the course and finish this endeavor. They did encounter a western diamond back rattler on the trail one day. He said that was very frightening. They had to move it off the trail with a LONG stick. Kris says that they are tired of Virginia and looking forward to some new country so the decision to head north is very appealing!"
